What does it mean to have an AssuranceLab certification?

Each organisation's profile in this register provides Assurance that they have received a certification or attestation report/s from AssuranceLab. The information pertaining to certifications and attestations issued is limited to that which is acceptable for a public-facing register. For further information pertaining to any standards or frameworks mentioned within an organisation profile, please reach out to them.

FAQ

Your questions answered

What is the difference between the original certification date and the issue date?

If an organisation does not have the same original certification date and issue date, it just means that their current certification is not their first for that particular standard. ISO 27001 Certifications expire 3 years after they are issued, so therefore if a client has been certified for more than 3 years, their current certificate is at least their second one issued by an accreditation body.

Why can’t I see the actual certificate on this register?

The distribution of an organisation’s ISO 27001 Certificate is the responsibility of that particular organisation. Should you wish to see the actual certificate or gain any further information about the organisation’s Information Security practices, please reach out to them directly.

I looked up an organisation and their expiry date is coming up, how do I know if they are being re-certified?

If an organisation’s certification expires within 12 months of you looking it up, it would be best to reach out to them directly. If they are an active AssuranceLab client and in the process of being re-certified, they can receive a status letter from their lead auditor confirming the status of the current audit and when the updated certification is expected to be issued.

I looked up an organisation and their expiry date has lapsed, what does this mean?

If an organisation’s ISO 27001 certification expiry date has lapsed, this could mean that they have either decided to no longer remain compliant to the ISO 27001 standard (or affiliated ISO/IEC standards), or their re-certification audit may have been delayed. If they are an active AssuranceLab client and in the process of being re-certified, they can receive a status letter from their lead auditor confirming the status of the current audit and when the updated certification is expected to be issued.

I’ve completed audits with AssuranceLab before, why isn’t my organisation in this register?

Currently, this register only pertains to AssuranceLab clients or audits against ISO/IEC standards (i.e., 27001, 27017, 27018, 27701). If you have completed a different audit or standard with AssuranceLab and would like to be featured on the register, please reach out to your Senior Consultant or contact at AssuranceLab to discuss future opportunities.
