Our offsite in Cronulla, Sydney, was an incredible way to finish a year of growth and success for our expanding team! Months of planning culminated in our fourth company-wide offsite, which saw 33 out of our 35-strong team in attendance. With people travelling from six Australian states and six countries to be together!
These well-deserved three days spent by the beachside were full of reflections, learning, bonding and getting hyped about our future with our growing team.
Crafting the Agenda
Our plan was to strike the ideal balance— business updates mixed in with downtime. Beach yoga, Co-Founder Q&A sessions, and culture design workshops. A personal favourite, was our Christmas Party which included a hilarious gingerbread house-building showdown.
Our Goals and AI
Our Co-Founders' insights on our goals, intertwined with the role of AI in our future plans via our innovative tech-enabled audit platform, Pillar, sparked a wave of engaging questions during our Co-Founder’s Ask Me Anything session. The sentiment among the majority of our team was the appreciation for the transparency exhibited by our Co-Founders, particularly in their discussions about AI's impact on our path forward.
Getting Personal, Growing Together
Being a remote-first company has its perks, but nothing beats these face-to-face moments. Meeting IRL uncovered new sides to our team, fostered deeper connections and hit the refresh button on our bond that can’t be created behind a screen.
Owning Our Journey
As our offsite came to a close, a key message was that we're all about improvement, and we're all hungry for feedback. Our sessions surfaced many takeaways, including uncovering what we can do better - as individuals and as a team.
Scaling globally is no small feat, and as we set our sights on 2024, these takeaways serve as guideposts for our continued growth. Each lesson learned will shape our path as we navigate the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead in our pursuit to set new standards in trust, innovation and audit excellence.
